Valentine’s Day 2011, a day I will never forget. A day that will forever be meaningful to me. Curious as to what happened on this day? Well it’s exciting. I hope you’re ready. On this day, I was baptized in the Indian Ocean. I was definitely ready to make the step and fully commit to changing my life for Christ. My past was still chaining me down and I wanted to be free from it. After walking into the ocean, Bishop asked me a few questions then prayed over me. God was there the whole time, smiling at me because of how happy He was with me. When I was under the water, my mind felt blank but not emotionless just blank, another way to describe it is clean and new. I felt that God was wiping away all of my past, my mistakes, my sin, basically my entire “old life” from my mind. This experience is something that will never leave my heart. I’m glad it happened on a significant day-Valentine’s day. Every year on February 14th, I’ll remember how much my Heavenly Father loves me, how His love for me is as vast as that beautiful ocean He baptized me in, and how His love for me is endless and unconditional. Praise God! My old life does not define me anymore, my life is defined by Christ, His love for me and my love for Him. All I can think to do now is thank God for His forgiveness and grace- and never stop thanking Him for it.
