Safe in Kenya!

We just spoke with the team leaders and they've all arrived safely in Kenya.  They are in route to their ministry site via some very long bus rides and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! The Passport field support team

Leaving Our Logs Behind

It's been four days. Four days since I left everything I knew to be comfortable behind, and said goodbye to the people who mean the most to me in life. It's been four days and I already feel changed. God has moved so much in all of our hearts since we have been here and it's awesome because this is only just the beginning. The other day we were given the opportunity to write down all of the things holding us back in life. However, we didn't write these distractions and burdens on paper! We wrote them on our very own logs. Yes, logs made of trees. After I had finished...

So Long Self, I’m Free to be Me

Fear. This was the ruler of my life. Fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, fear of making mistakes. For many years I was afraid of people. My fears turned to shyness and shyness resulted in appearing like a snob. And so, not many people know the real me because I did not let them. Usually when I hear God,I just keep it to myself and just allow other people to do the talking. But training camp has really made me more comfortable with sharing what God has placed on my heart and not caring about...

Opening Up

Our first "adventure" from the airport came in an envelope with directions and $37. We had to figure out a route to our destination in Atlanta (Safehouse), buy marta tickets, and walk with our luggage. It did not take me long to wish I had not packed so much. That night we were introduced to AIM staff and the five other Real Life teams. We split into groups of 6 and were given a map and 3-4 hours to minister to people on the streets. We were lucky enough to have the entertainment of "Dragacon" participants. We talked to a handful of people and a nineteen year old boy was...
