ONE MORE DAY UNTIL AFRICA!

At training camp I expected to learn a lot about the culture and what type of ministry we would be doing in Kenya. Instead, training camp was about preparing our hearts and getting rid of baggage in our lives before we stepped into our missions field. I am looking forward to witnessing miracles, healing and prosperity. I am so excited to love on children and serve the people! I know God has great plans for everyone on my team. We are going into Kenya with characteristics of a warrior. My prayer is that God is going to use us to break chains of brokenness and burdens, the chain of sin...

A Prayer from Camp

Dear Heavenly Father,  Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for all that You have done in our hearts the past few days. We have seen walls torn down, chains broken, and hearts fully and completely given to you. God, as I walked down the surrender trail and completely surrendered to You my fear of change, I knew that You have lifted that burden from me, and the only change that will happen in me, is because You desired it. Thank you Jesus, just for reminding us that we have so much to thank You for. All fifty of us at camp are a testimony to Your great works and Your everlasting grace. We...

Everything I Expected and More

I came to camp expecting to build a relationship with my teammates, grow closer to God, and to have fun.  Much to my delight this is exactly what has happened.    Since the time that we meet at the airport, my teammates and I have spent nearly every minute together laughing and getting to know each other.  It has been cool to me that although we have never meet before we have very quickly become a family.  It is only possible because of our shared love of Christ and our heart to serve the people of Kenya.  I am so excited for the months ahead as we...

God Wants To Talk To Me? WHAT?!

Coming to training the only thing I expected was preparation for Kenya. Instead, I got a little chat from God.             Before I could never tell if God was talking to me or if my brain was talking to myself… That makes me sounds like a crazy person, but I’m sure you’ve thought of that too, right? Wednesday I asked my leader “How do you know when God is talking to you.” She gave me a pretty good answer, but I was still a tad confused. Also, I was convinced that God just didn’t want to...

“KEN YA” believe we’re going to Africa?!

When I told everyone back home in Ohio that I would be at training camp for one week in Georgia, I bet they were picturing what I had been picturing for so long. Sleeping in a nice building, eating lots of food, being clean the whole week before we left, and especially being comfortable. This week has been none of those things, but for so many reasons this week has been so much more. The Adventures in Mission's staff have trained us physically, mentally and most importantly spiritually.  God has been so evident in every moment of this week whether it was trying to sleep in the...

Safety In His Presence

Leaving for Training Camp on Friday, I felt a lot of apprehension, but was sure God had called me to Kenya this summer.  This past year, I have really wrestled with the Lord. I have known that God is calling me to much more than I have been walking in during the past year, but I have refused to give in to the Spirit out of fear and caring too much about what others think of me.  The first night of worship here at camp was AWEsome. We have been focusing on declaring and speaking words out loud so that they come into being. Basically, this is the first time that I have felt...
