The First 24 Hours

We have now been in Kenya for about 24 hours.  After 2 days of traveling we have finally made it!  It is amazing how all the memories from my time in West Africa have come back but Kenya is so different from what I experienced before.   Even from the first moment of landing I noticed something different- quiet! Even when running around Nairobi to get bus tickets so we can head out to our first ministry, it is so much quieter. Hardly any horns honking, no people trying to sell you things when sitting in traffic (which is actually something I miss J–...

Here am I. Send Me!

I am finally here in Kenya. I am here! It seems so unreal. I have a love for this place that I can't describe. And I feel very blessed that God would choose me to come and serve this beautiful country. During the 24 plus hours of traveling that it took to get to Nairobi I had a LOT of time to think. Most of the time I couldn't fully believe that I was really on my way to a place where I left my heart 10 months ago. The other part of my time was thinking through what it took for me to get here. The road was rough, painful, many tears were shed, and things didn't go as I...

Imagine With Me…

I want you to imagine with me for a few minutes…imagine your leaving behind everything that has been known to you, everything that has been a comfort, all of your friends and family, your church, your work, your homes, your rooms, beds, bathrooms, clean clothes, personal space…EVERYTHING that has been a comfort to you or has been taken for granted. Imagine you meet up with a group of people at an airport and wait around for the majority of the day not really knowing why you are sitting around. Imagine with me that...

A Whole NEW World!

Dear Friends and family,     Where to start?! God works in such mysterious ways, well that’s what I have always been told  anyway. When I arrived her I was completely and entirely scared to death. The fear of the unknown I would say. I have begin to bond in crazy, unthinkable ways. I don’t think I understood Gods ways or words before I came to Atlanta, I still don’t think I have a firm grasp but He has come through me in ways like never before and all I can do is embrace. The road I am now walking is aliened with gospel, truth, and teammates that...

An Encounter With God!

Wow.. I want to just let everyone know that I have an Amazing team. Training camp has been an experience that I will always remember. I have learned so much that my team and I can take into the nations. One experience that has impacted me through this camp is receiving a prophetic word. During last nights worship, we were told for three teams to stand in lines and close their eyes and the teams Uganda and Kenya were to stand in the middle. As we walked up to someone, we would put our hand on their shoulder, this let them know that we were there and to begin speaking as the Lord gave them...

Feathers, Magnets and Nametags

I’m jumping up and down with raised hands and shouting victories one minute, on my knees crying and praying the next. Seems like I’d be bi-polar or something., but it’s actually just my realization of being consumed by the Holy Spirit. Understanding that I no longer have to feel any guilt or any shame. That those are all lies that I’ve fed myself this whole time. Satan was a liar, liar pants on fire, with a nose as long as a telephone wire. But I was calling him out and saying, “No longer will I be a victim. No longer would I be a slave.” As this...
