Shout out to the Parents and friends

I hope by now your kids have told you who I am but if not; I am one of the leaders. I hope you've been enjoying the stories they write and the growth they've all been walking through. I wanted to just thank you all for allowing them to come to Africa. You letting go a little for this is allowing them space to figure out who God is calling them to be. They have taken on every challenge set forth and have best represented Christ to people here. I don't know from experiace that letting your kid go to another country is hard BUT I do know that it's...

A Blue Rubber Band

The first time we went to the IDP camp was eye opening to say the least. We drove for about an hour in the rain, all quiet and not really knowing what to expect. When we neared the camp, we observed the barren land, tiny cement houses ( courdesy of habitat for humanity ) stray dogs, and a large crowd of smiling faces and squealing children. We'd look behind us from inside the vehicle and see little kenyan children running like mad, trying to catch up with our bus. So when we finally stopped, you can imagine...

Having Faith Even When Its Hard

My heart has been twisted and truned from the things I have seen and stories I have heard. My eyes have been opened to see beyond my own little workd. I have seen pain and suffering, homeless families, starving children, sickeness, evil – Sometimes I can't help but argue with God, "Why are you allowing these things?" One of our first days of ministry in Kijabe was going to the hospital. We go around the hospital and talk to, encourage, and pray for the patients. It is difficult because many times there is a language barrier and no one around to translate. I have begun...

God’s Not Finished With Me Yet

Now two months into this trip, God has blessed our team abundantly both in personal walks with Christ and with ministry. In the six weeks we've spend at the three different tribes, we've seen 100 people saved: 17 in the Maasai tribe, 16 in Kikuyu, and 67 in Pokot. With just one month of the trip remaining, we've had “double fruitfulness” prophesied over our team. Though we all realize this last month will fly by, God's not finished with us yet. Amazing things are coming to our team! Even as we head home, I know God will continue to use us all for His glory....

Free Falling

Harness secure… Check. Toes over the edge… Check. Eyes looking straight out in front of me… Check. Now all I have to remember is to breathe… "Three! Two! One," called the instructor, "JUMP!" I bend my knees just enough to launch me from the platform. I swing my arms out in front of me as my body lurches forward into the air. I watch as the mountains in the distance start to move upward as I start to fall. I can't breathe. My stomach feels like it's going to slide up my throat. I think I'm going to throw up… As I soar into the...

Deep cries out to Deep

some things i have learned well on this trip. The depth of who we are cries out for the depth of who He is. In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. IF God was small enuf to fit in our minds, He wouldnt be big enuf for our needs. That anytime you go through a hard place thats because Gods geting ready to raise you up.So keep praising him.If He is for you who can be against you. The unseen world has influense over the visible. If people of God will not reach for the kingdom. The realm of darkness is ready to display its ability. God tells us to pray "on...
