Have you ever been TAIZED in the Holy Spirit?

So I want to start off by saying, Have you ever been taized in the Holy spirit? You are probably wondering what I am talking about, and this is exactly it…. Last night I was at our worship session for debrief, and there is something I have been holding on to in the fear of offending someone or thinking one of my team members would look at me differently. So, as I stand in worship I feel a restraint, like I just can’t go on like this anymore, I just want to be free… Free in my worship, free in who I am in God, and Free in the gifts he has given me. I knew that this was my...

I dare you not to read this

It’s funny how the days that change your life never seem very special in the midst of the moments that occur. You experience so much within a single day that it can take weeks to pin-point why that day was so unique and why, after such a day, you will never be the same. It is just mind boggling how 1 day, how 24 hours, how 1,440 minutes, contains the capacity to wreck you forever. This was my day.   I awoke to the all too normal rooster crow, threw on an only slightly dirty shirt, and grabbed some breakfast. Orphans was the game plan today and I was excited for what God had...

God, will you be my valentine?

Valentine’s Day 2011, a day I will never forget. A day that will forever be meaningful to me. Curious as to what happened on this day? Well it’s exciting. I hope you’re ready. On this day, I was baptized in the Indian Ocean. I was definitely ready to make the step and fully commit to changing my life for Christ. My past was still chaining me down and I wanted to be free from it. After walking into the ocean, Bishop asked me a few questions then prayed over me. God was there the whole time, smiling at me because of how happy He was with me. When I was under the water,...

The Gentle Spirit of a Servant

Irene is a happy, always smiling, fun-loving 19 year old girl. She is one of the friends I’ve met while living here in Bishop Basuru’s house in Mpeketoni, Kenya. She lives in a mud hut not more than 5 feet away from the cement house that we’re living in. The other night I was walking around our little yard when I saw Irene bending over a boiling pot, so I walked over to her to see what she was doing…sadly I couldn't figure out how to post the two pictures I had for this blog, so hopefully you can get a good picture of what I'm saying through my words. ...

Good Old Disney!

I have so many emotions and thoughts running through my head that I am actually having a hard time figuring out what I am going to write this blog about. I just don't know how to express it in my own words. So in order for this blog to make sense there is one thing that you should know about me. I LOVE DISNEY!!! It's true. And there is one song that explains what I am feeling and experiencing pretty well. The song is "A Whole New World" off of Aladdin. Here are the lyrics… I can show you the world Shinning, shimmering, splendid Tell me princess Now when did...

I want to change the world, but God’s been changing me!

Wow!!!  Training Camp has been an amazing experience and I just cannot believe just how much God has shown me and changed me already.  Throughout the past few days, God has been doing some amazing things in my life.  I just want you all to know that I am not constantly worrying anymore about what is going to happen to me or you while I am away because I do not need to.  God knows what He is doing, I do not have to try and fix things or people…God will do that.  I have been reminded that I can do nothing apart from Christ…but through Him, I can do...
