Why have I stopped breathing?

  Why have I stopped breathing? Sometimes God makes things happen that we don’t understand.  I don’t know why little babies die after fighting for their life for nearly four months.  I have no idea why He allows kids to be sick and in so much pain.  It doesn’t make any sense. I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t think anyone does but God. I do know though that He loves us… He loves us so much.  He gives the kids so much joy even though they may be suffering and it’s awesome to see their smiling faces! I...

Timothy=Superman

  Timothy is Superman(just saying).  I met him while we were visiting houses in the I.D.P.(Internally Displaced Persons) Camp.  He is ten years old.  The first thing I noticed was his big smile, not the braces on his legs or the crutches he was using to help get around.   You see Timothy was born with clubbed(feet turned in) feet.  The reason he was wearing the braces is because he had an operation to turn them outward so he could walk right.  I must say since the first time I saw him three weeks ago, his feet have been healing so well!  Each time I...

becoming children of God

   Hey guys, it’s amazing to think that i’m only 4 weeks away from coming back home. Kenya is awesome, every day God is working through our team and molding each one of us into His image. God has been putting a lot of stuff on my mind ever since we’ve started focusing most of our time in the hospital and IDP camp.    It seems that wherever our team goes, there seems to be atleast 5 kids behind us pushing and shoving trying to be the one to hold the white person’s hand. This happens more specifically at the IDP camp where our main ministry is...

Hi.

      So I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do when I come home and to be honest I don’t know what’s going to happen. I will probably just go back to school and finish out my undergraduate there and I think that would be good for me. That path would most certainly be acceptable as long as I really continue to try to become a better man. However some of the things I’ve been reading lately in the Bible among other books are leading me to question the path I have laid out for myself. When Jesus spoke to the rich young man(which after...

5 things you don’t see in America

Hey everyone,     Were going on I think week 4 in Kenya and so far its been awesome. Our team has been doing some pretty amazing things. We have been in the Kijabe Hospital and been able to watch a surgery standing right next to the bed. We caught a goat, held its four legs down and killed it, then later on we ate the meat from its head… We have done some new and interesting things to say the least.        Lately, we have been going to a place called the IDP Camp. It somewhat resembles a refugee camp because the people who are living there were...

Rich in Faith

Hebrews 13:2: “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it.” This past week we had the opportunity to go to the IDP camp located in the Rift Valley. And I can say without a doubt, I am falling in love with the people there! The first time we went, which was Saturday, I was greeted by a 12 year old girl named Emily. I attempted to make conversation with her and much to my surprise, she spoke English very well! She had a smile that shined for miles and for some reason she became attached to me almost...
