We are ALL Alive

Happy Easter!!! Christ is Risen and we have been set free from this World and sin. Praise God! The greatest thing about this Easter is all of the new believers that are celebrating their first Easter because of the work that God has allowed this Real Life team to do here in Kenya. There are so many new believers in all of the areas this team has done ministry, the Gospel has really been our focus and God has blessed us for that.

The past few weeks have been pretty busy, thus no blogs, we are sorry for that. The school that we have been using for internet shut down for the Easter holiday and the month of April so we are lacking in the instant access of internet. We hope to get some personal blogs up soon but until then I am the messenger.
We have been learning a lot about simplicity lately and what it means to allow God to be our daily bread. For the past two weeks we have been taking an hour each and praying throughout the night. It has been stretching for many of us to wake up in the middle of the night to pray but we are growing in the discipline and God is teaching us all a lot through our obedience.

As April has approached fast and we now have less than a month we are all realizing the importance of continuing to go strong in all of the ministries we have fallen in love with. We were blessed this past Thursday through Easter Sunday to spend our days at the IDP(Internally Displaced People) camp. We brought three of our Kenyan friends from Turkana up to stay with us for the week in the church hall. Simon, Peter and Samuel did such a great job translating for us at Turkana we wanted to do ministry with them again at the IDP camp. We focused on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus throughout the week. During our service on Saturday Brian, Blair and Regan did a drama of the beating and hanging of Christ. After that Logan shared with the people about how Christ died for each one of us. Everyone who showed up at the camp was given a card to write their name on. After Logan talked he invited them up to put their cards at the feet of Jesus signifying that Christ died for each of them. It was very powerful for all of us and we know for sure that one man gave his life to Christ that day. PRAISE GOD!!

On Easter Sunday we worshiped with them again, it was an honor to be all the way across the World with the “least of these” on such an important day. We danced, sang and heard a message from Kelli. Kelli did such a great job of sharing about the resurrection of Christ.

As we drove away from the camp a few people began to talk about the plans that God has for these people. Blair commented that we may come back in the future and not even recognize the place. I believe that God has used this group to start a stirring in these people for something greater than they can even imagine.

We concluded our Easter by inviting some of our new African and American missionary friends to an Easter dinner. We had Fried chicken, gravy, mashed and sweet potatoes, green beans, chapatti, pineapple, cookies and Regan’s new specialty “The Jelly Roll”. It was definitely a feast and it was so wonderful to celebrate with some of our new friends.

Now we are into our last week of regular ministry. We will be saying goodbye this week to many of our new friends. Please be praying for us as this transition will be hard, we will leave part of our hearts in many different places this week. It is hard to believe we have less than three weeks here in Kenya but time flies when God is rocking your World.

Thanks for all of your support and prayers!
