We read it in the bible and hear stories from other people…but it actually happened…it actually happened…
This happened the day after Michael (guy that was in a coma) woke up from his coma. As the team and I were praying for the sick and going around to each of the beds talking to people, one particular woman caught my eye towards the front of the room. We headed to her bedside and found her curled up with her knees to her chest…her right hand and arm were moving about randomly and she was shaking uncontrollably. Her mother was by her side and she told us that her name was Mary and she had cerebral malaria. This malaria caused the entire right side of her body to be unusable and uncontrollable.
Mary’s mother told us that she had not walked in over a month and had not talked in just as long. The mother was losing hope fast…but we talked with her and told her that we wanted to pray for God to heal her…we wanted to see Mary walk and talk again. So that is exactly what we did…we prayed. We fought for Mary and commanded the sickness to leave in Jesus name. Jeremy began to sing and create an atmosphere for the spirit to move in and I began to ask God to open up heaven…to pour out onto this woman. All of the other Saints where crying out to God; on their faces, on their knees, and with hands laid on Mary. As we were fighting Mary’s mother was crying out as well…her hands raised high praising God, begging Him to heal her daughter. Many of us fell to the floor crying begging God to do the impossible…the sound was glorious. I noticed that many of the other people that we had already prayed for were looking at us with wide eyes not sure what to think of the sight before them…I was sure they were feeling the Spirit of God moving about them.
While all of this was taking place Mary told one of our translators that she wanted to get up and walk…so that is exactly what she did…she started to sit up in her bed and then slowly stood up! Of course she needed some help but she got up…and shakily started to take steps…and this caused a HUGE uproar of prayer to be sent to the Father. STRENGTH!!! Many of us touched her legs and asked for God to pour out His strength onto her legs…another step…and then another…and another…
When she had made it back to her bed she sat on a bench and asked for her mother…She told her mom that God had healed her…that she was going to walk normal again and that she was going to have her life back again. Because of her faith to get up, from being bed ridden for a month, to walk God had blessed her and healed her.
Our job is to bring Heaven to earth…and that is exactly what we did praying for Mary…Heaven came to earth…and it was beautiful.
