How in the world is it November?

It is so hard to believe that it is already November.  I think it has a little to do with the fact that it feels like summer here and a lot to do with the number of places we have gone and people we have met.  I have loved meeting so many awesome people.  Kenya will forever be in my heart.  Since I have lived in Kenya for over two months now, I decided to make a list of things that remind me that I'm  indeed in Kenya.

You know you have lived in Kenya for awhile when you….
• go four days before you even think about showering
• answer to mzungu and don't remember how your name is actually pronounced
• complain when it is 60F outside because you are freezing
• are surprised when you have a whole seat all to yourself, especially in a matatu because that never happens
• have tan lines from your sandals but you can only see them right after showering because your feet are always dirty
• find it weird to hear someone speak English without a strong accent
• are no longer alarmed when someone starts petting your arm or head
• find it normal to look out the window of a vehicle and see a giraffe or zebra
• have shortened your testimony to: My name is Richelle.  I love Jesus.  He is my personal savior.
• never leave the house without toilet paper and your water bottle
• get excited at the sight of a toilet
• prefer to sleep in a tent rather than a bed because there are no mosquitoes in your tent
• can't remember the last time you had a meal that wasn't composed of mostly carbs

Life is a little different in Kenya, but I love it.  The people are very hospitable and kind.  I thank the Lord that He has brought me to this beautiful country.  I will cherish every moment that I have left.
