Just A Thought

The past few days have been exciting, scary, sad, crazy, and eye opening…in a sense it has been a roller coaster. God has been opening my mind to the fact that He actually, truly, with all of His being, loves me.  The God that pulled THE Genesis 1, who created man from dirt, who reigns in Heaven, who DIED for my sins, loves me with everything He has (which is a whole lot).         I have been listening to a bunch of different sermons on my leader’s iPod about the revelation of why God created man in...

BURNED IN FAITH

BURNED IN FAITH Within a few hours of being in Mpeketoni a huge tree grabbed my attention. The trunk that held this tree was thick enough to support an army of men, and its roots ran deep onto hospital property. About a week ago that tree was burned at the peak of its trunk; the lifeless work of art shows no mercy in its ash stained bark. Sharing the same lot, distressed, faded letters read "Children's Ward." A Faith Shaken

This is the face of the child who stole my heart. It’s the face of the child who’s smile fills me with immense joy every time I see it. Seriously, satan was working over time...

The Bat and Me

So, Here In Kenya we are living in an incredible house- so much different from what I had expected.  Running water, rooms to sleep in, a nice living room, but at night the bugs and such do come out.  So the other night one of the girls and I were out late talking outside and we finally come in around 1am.  So I am getting ready for bed- getting my mosquito net around me and getting it all situated when I hear a weird noise.  I look up and there is a bat in our room and it is going crazy.  This bat is hitting walls and doors and then it finally flies out of our...

What Are We Thinking America?

Dirt floors, mud walls being held up by sticks and grass, no air conditioner, no musical instruments other than a drum, no cushioned pews or seats, and a small room packed with sixty people…and God still shows up to rock some peoples worlds. I want to ask the question, “What are we thinking America?” We have multimillion dollar churches packed with stadium seating, a full choir and worship band, all the lights, sounds, and special effects of a rock concert, and AIR CONDITIONING! We have all of this stuff and yet God hardly ever moves to the magnitude that He wants to....
