My Voice :)

For the first time in my life I am surrounded by "strangers"… People that know nothing about me, and for the first time I am having to let strangers in and tell them who I am.     For the first time in my life I'm realizing that I don't know who, Breanne is. My whole life I have defined my self as something … Overweight, people pleaser, approval getter, under achiever, worthless ….. All things God dose NOT say  I am!    For the first time my mom is no here to...

Jambo from Kenya!!

Jambo (hello) everyone!!! Gosh, I don't even know where to begin with this blog.. so much has been happening here in Kenya, I wish I could explain everything! Our first two weeks here in Kenya have been amazingly good, difficult, and overall a huge growing experience. As a team, we've had to let go of expectations, and learn to adapt to a whole new way of life. During these past couple of weeks, my team and I stayed at a tribe called Tangi Tatu. During our stay, we walked for miles a day doing door-to-door ministry. The people are all so hospitable and welcoming. They would invite...

Jina Langu Ni Nashipae [My name is Joyful]

Jombo from the Tangitatu tribe outside of Naivasha, Kenya! Summing up these past 2 weeks is nearly impossible, so I will give you a small glimpse into our time here and what the Lord has been doing in and through me.  We saw so much fruit in Tangitatu.  Each day, we did door to door ministry and met with people in their homes.  They would greet us with love, excitement, chai tea, and maize.  I personally saw over 8 people come to Christ and realize the hope and joy that comes with a relationship with him.  I have seen questioning hearts be filled with hope and...

NO Accident

Psalm 139:13-16 " For you created my inmost being; you knit me in my mothers womb. I praise you because i am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, i know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when i was made in hte secret place. when i was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Just like these verses say that God knew everyday before i was even born. He knew that my team was going to be in the tribe of Tangi Tatu sharing with the...

Not Your Typical Love Story

She was eight years old when she was chosen to be the bride of a man 26 years older than her. On Sunday, it was her wedding day.             All week I had been hearing rumors about an upcoming wedding. This was exciting news, especially to the girls, since weddings are a hot topic in our group. It was exciting until we met the groom a few days before the wedding. When we first approached the man and a few of his friends to share the gospel, he said he was sinless! This really surprised me...

Kenya Dig It?

So this is going to be an absurdly short blog post, but short is sweet.  Anyhow…this has been the most intense two weeks of my life, and not just because we're in tents… All expectations have been shattered and Ive been stuck scrambling to pick up the pieces.  To be honest, there has been a lot going on in the past fortnight that has genuinely defeated me.  But there was a silver lining somewhere amongst the grey clouds of my mind – I was able to teach on Wednesday! For those who may be unaware, I graduated this past May with a Bachelor's degree in...
