Elizabeth x 3

I think that God has a thing with the name Elizabeth because all of the Elizabeths I have met through our door to door experiences have been glowing with Gods love. The first Elizabeth I met was at Tangi Tatu, we came accross her plowing her songs bean field. She looked to be around 85. WE learned that her husband and son had died in the Election riots a few years back, and her other children rarely visited. The mere gact that people were even talking to her brought a smile to her face. Tears ran down as she explained she rarely got visitors, let alone white ones! We all laid hands on her...

This is what I get for thinking

"Everything happens for a reason" is a saying I've heard but never really felt, or even thought much about. Until now. We've spent the past two weeks in Karati with the Kikuyu tribe. The first week was rough and I was questioning what we were doing and if we were really making a difference. I kept letting little things get to me and was stuck in the repetitiveness of the door to door ministry we were doing. Everything started looking worse when I learned that our teammate Ryan was going home. Thats when I started thinking about everything happening for a reason, though. I...

Time ???

When asked what time it is people will say the time of the day. realizing that they are most likely late for something or other. Our world is always worried about time. and how much they still need to do before the end of the day. We are always running from one place to another. when the day is finally done we realize and question, where our day has gone? since it may feel as if nothing has been accomplished. Than when we are ready to sleep we realize that we have forgotten to talk to God throughout the day. there just wasn't enough time in the day. We promise ourselves that we'll...

Faith That Can Move Mountains

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain. Go, throw yourself into the sea,and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. It will be done for him. Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:22-24 During door to door evangalism in Karati with the Kikuyu tribe, we met this old man. He said that his legs hurt, so we asked if we could place hands on him and pray for him. We prayed having complete faith that God could move...

Insert Incredible Deep Title Here

A girl on my tema opened up to us about her past struggles with depression. She told us how lonley she was and how she couldn't open up to family and friends. I believe God spoke to me through her. Someone very close to me is and has been struggling with depression. I realized that I put up a wall when she trys to talk to me about it. I struggle with patience and understanding with her. I felt convicted and guilty but the more I prayed and listened about it I realized that guilt was from the enemy. God reminded me that rather than dwell on wishing I could change the past I can change...

Take My Pain and Carry Me Home

My team has been having incredible experiences in ministry thus far, but I seemed to be missing out on all of them. Reading my Bible one morning, I came across Matthew 17:14-22, which tells of Jesus healing a demon possessed boy because the disciples could not drive it out. When the disciples asked why they could not heal the boy, Jesus replied, “'Because you have so little faith.'” This story made me realize that I hadn't been in the groups when the life-changing events happened because I had so little faith in God's miracles on earth today. So, why would God...
