So this is America…

I never wrote a final blog. I haven't been able to fully process until just recently.  It has been four months since I've returned to the States, eight months since I arrived in Kenya, twelve months since I began fundraising for this trip, and sixteen months since I told my family I knew I was called to a mid-term mission trip.  As I walked through customs in Georgia, four long months ago, and heard the words I had so anxiously waited to hear, "Welcome Home", my heart was pounding, my thoughts racing. I was back. And one day later, I had said goodbye the the...

Saying Goodbye

My time in Kenya is quickly coming to an end.  It is hard to believe that it has been more than three months.  I am excited to be home, especially with Christmas being so soon.  I am super excited to catch up with my family and friends before I jet off to the next adventure that God has for me in Spain.  I am not so excited to being leaving my teammates.      I have loved my last three months in Kenya because I got to spend it with seven amazing women of The Lord.  I can't imagine a more perfect plan than the one God had by...

Secret’s From My Journal

August 27- Training Camp. Georgia We are on our second day of camp. After a terrible night of sleep and my first time sleeping outside, EVER. I am tired, sore and dirty. All summer I have felt so ready for this trip, but now… I’m wondering what I have gotten myself into. I don’t sleep in sleeping bags! I don’t sleep outside! I don’t go a day without looking in the mirror. Jesus, let me know your love in ways I’ve never imagined. Let me feel your love wrap around me. God, the love you had for me in the States will be just as powerful as the love you have...

The Storybook called Kenya

The other day I found myself in tears. Because I looked at all that we have done in Kenya, and tried to piece everything together. I wanted to see what I did that was “extravagant” or what story I learned from the people here. I then realized that I didn’t have one. I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. God quickly showed me that is was a great thing and the reason for it being a great thing. You see, each of us girls have our own story about what God did here in Africa. Someone may have been changed by someone in Massaai , maybe someone was changed...

Change of plans

Sometimes things turn out a little different than we expected.  I was so set on going to G42 in January but that is no longer the plan.  I had been praying about it, and God kept telling me that He would provide! God did not change my heart until He saw that I totally trusted that He would provide and I finally knew that it did not matter what anyone else thought.  God told me not to go to G42, but instead to go home for now to love people and share all that I have learned and done in Kenya. For a couple days I felt pulled home, so I sat down and...
