Peace Like a River

So . . .

About these past few days in Kenya at our ministry site . . .

Have been nothing like I was expecting (darn those expectations Jimmy!).

After our 12 hour bus ride to our ministry site, and within 2 hours one of our girls started having a health issue that turned into a spiritual attack.  God gave Michael and I the wisdom needed to bring Truth and Light into this situation (and don’t worry- that girl is just fine!).  And then not even 24 hours after being here, another one of our girls got sick.  And I mean sick.

The doctor ended up coming out to give her something to take down the fever and gave her some fluids.  And see seemed to be doing better by the end of the night and even the next morning she was not getting worse but once in a while her fever would spike.  Then all of a sudden it got completely worse and we ended up deciding to take her to a hospital 4 hours away in Mombasa.  Michael and another girl went with to help out with the one girl who was sick.  They still are not quite sure what exactly happened or what she had but they are back here and my family is complete once again   The one girl is still recovering but is much better! Praise God!

So  . . . about those expectations . . .

I never would have imagine or expected that within 24 hours of ministry that anything like what has happened over the last couple days would have.    All I can say is that God was and is all over this situation.  I have never felt peace like I have these past few days.  Considering what was going on, I should have been freaking out- and I mean freaking out.  But I wasn’t.  Peace was all over us and this team.  I have never felt peace, God’s peace like this before.  In one moment I am leading with Michael with 12 kids and then in the next I am leading all by myself for a day or so with 10 kids.  God showed up and just amazed me.  As I mentioned earlier I never thought of myself as a leader, but God showed me during these whole situation that indeed He has called me to this and has equipped me!

Please keep us in your prayers.  As of right now, we have not gone one day here with at least one person not feeling well.  We need you all to be uplifting us and praying constantly!  My heart for this team keeps on getting bigger and bigger every day and the love and joy I feel for them just continues to grow!  All I can say is that I am so proud of them, of my kids
