Hospital Hospitality

Twice a week our team goes to the district hospital to pray for those who are there. The first time I went I was apprehensive about what all I was going to see, but God showed up in a mighty way and provided the strength that I needed to face the men in the ward that I visited. The next week I visited the children's ward, which I must say was the ward I was most concerned about making it through. Then again The Lord showed up in a powerful way and proved that when I trust in Him and act as His hands and feet, He will provide. The children were in there for various reasons, some malaria, others broken bones, even things that children in the US would not be hospitalized for. The simple joy that can come from a group of mzungu's only comes from the fact that we are letting Christ shine through us.

This Friday when we went, I was excited to experience the power of God yet again, His presence is felt so strongly in the wards. The surgical ward for women was a new experience; the women were in there post-operation. Some women had surgery on their stomach region, others broken bones, some with fresh stitches; in it all God provided the strength to face the fleshly wounds. This strength allowed me to pray for their flesh as well as spiritual wounds on the women in the ward. The power of prayer overthrows the language barrier when our translator is praying with another patient. God is definitely stirring in my heart through the hospital visits, I am praying that I continue to seek His purpose for my future. Bwana asifiwe! Praise The Lord!
