Africa is hope.

This first week of ministry was awesome.  It was very emotional but super encouraging.  We have been working in the schools and the little african children have stolen my heart.  They have such sweet smiles and have a irreplaceable joy.  We also had the opportunity to work in the hospital.  We went into the children’s, female, male, and surgical ward to pray over the sick and wounded.  It was very emotional because I kept wondering why God chose these people to get sick when they already have nothing. Why not me?  There was one lady that had...

Love you Daddy!! I'm gonna tell you what my days here look like. 5:20 am We rise before the sun. Then at 5:45 am, we "run" to the church. Being the change I wish to be!

As I sit  here in Busia Kenya it is hard for me to realize that I am back and doing his work again. Before returning though I had different expectation for what it would look like this time because all I knew was my time before. I am here to tell you now that things are totally different. Ministry is different, living is different, food is different, and my place on this team is different.       I can definetly say that God knows how to fool me. God is so good.

Guess whose safe in Busia, Africa? I am! From our hostel in Nairobi we took a 9 hour bus ride to Deliverance church in Busia. I am staying at Pastor Gideons house along with 6 other girls and the 4 boys. The 7 girls stay in one room with 2 beds. 5 girls stay in the beds while we have one girl on the ground and one in her hammock. Its quite cozy with us all squished in there. I am in LOVE with the Kenyan people. Everyone is so happy and kind all the time. I got on the bus to Busia and there was a lady already sitting in the seat next to me. After we got to talking, I figured out that her...

Hello from Kenya!      After three plane rides, a mini-bus airport taxi, multiple taxis to the bus station, and a nice 10 hour bus ride to Busia we have finally made it to Busia, Kenya (our home for the next two months). We spent our first three nights in Kenya at a Hostel in Nairobi, it was a nice little place but we were all ready to get to Busia. We arrived in Busia Saturday evening and were picked up by Pastor Gideon (PG) and some of the other members of the Deliverance Church. We are doing all of our ministry through this church and I can already tell it is going to be...

Nothing BUT room!

He invited us back to his house and church.  He wants us to meet his family.  He lives in Mombasa which is on the coast of kenya. He assured us if we come visit he will take us to the beach so we all promised we would be back next summer.  We also had the BEST mocha chip ice cream sundae in the ENTIRE world (kristen you would have been in heaven).  We had a ten hour bus ride to Busia filled with...
