Doors and Crusades

We have now been here in Busia for about 2 weeks and it is much different than at our first ministry site.   First of all, all of us 9 girls are sharing the same room J and all 13 of us are sharing one shower and 1 � toilets. You can say that we are finally starting to understand more and more of what it means to live in actual community. World Race groups and a Real Life group have been here before in Busia and they have prepared the way for us! People here are hungry for God and even though the spiritual atmosphere here is dark and we are feeling the...

Happiness in a rain drop

I can honestly say since my team and i left Atlanta we have seen nothing but the sun and the moon. Our days of wet waether had become nonexistant. It is now rainy season in Kenya, however never being here before i wasnt sure what "rainy season" had in store for us. Thunder, lightning, pooring rain, and no power…..Thank the Lord!!! To Be Continued

Today I went to the largest slum in Africa: Kibera. As soon as I entered the van my heart hurt for the sites we were going to see. It was endless metal and mud shacks and in the distance you could see the skyscrapers of the city. It was heartbreaking to see such poverty in such a westernized and developed city. I’m still processing the whole thing so this post is going to be left as “To Be Continued” so I hope that you will check back in to read the rest of my thoughts!

Update

Hello everyone! sorry I have not blogged for awhile i will start blogging at least once a week! Right now we are at debrief in Nairobi with team Uganda. in a couple days we will are headed to Busia where we will spend the rest of our time. These past two months have changed me more than i could ever describe in a blog so as I start posting more I think you will see what I mean. Today we checked out the slums of Kibera and I’m still processing the experience so I will post more on this very soon as well put up pics and videos!!!!!
