This is Real Life

They were beaten, their house lit on fire, and told to leave with a single picture as their only remaining possession. They walked 400 miles to come here to Busia where they worked for a place to stay. They know what starvation means for they are constantly facing it. Sickness is common and almost expected. They are rejected, looked down upon, and are stuck in a wicked cycle of what is known as poverty. They are refugees. This is the story of Jen and William. What kept Christ on the Cross?

I heard this recently, and it really hit me: It wasn't the nails that kept Christ on the cross… It was His love for you and me.   Could a couple nails really keep the King and Creator of the Universe down?? It was the last day of crusades at a town called Butula. The night started off great. I already found my little buddy for the night and was looking forward to loving and pouring into the little girl that I held in my arms. I am going to guess that he was around the age of 2. He was wearing this long shirt that had 101 dalmations on it, was dirty as can be and had this really vulnerable look about him. I instantly had...

Ministry…it’s Everywhere

Over the past two and a half months, God has been showing me something amazing…that ministry does not start when I leave my house nor does it end when I return, it is always happening and it’s an attitude that needs to be cultivated. So far in Busia, our planned ministry opportunities have been few and far between, but I am learning that anything can be ministry; helping clean the house we are staying at is ministry, helping prepare and clean up after meals is ministry, and something as simple as filling up another person’s water bottle is ministry. Ministry...
