Faith That Can Move Mountains

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain. Go, throw yourself into the sea,and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. It will be done for him. Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:22-24 During door to door evangalism in Karati with the Kikuyu tribe, we met this old man. He said that his legs hurt, so we asked if we could place hands on him and pray for him. We prayed having complete faith that God could move...

A Day In Our Shoes

These past two weeks have been spent in Tangi Tatu with the Maasi tribe. The mountainous land of Kenya is definitely different than what I expected but it is beyond gorgeous! This place is definitely one of God's masterpieces! We have been doing door to door evangalism and it has really surprised me how hospitable everyone we visit is, Christian or not. They have so little but they give what they have. They would use every last bit of their ingredients just to make their visitors chai tea. Pastor Amos's mom,Rebekah made all the girls on the team earrings and she also made me a...

A time to reap what has been sown

I am in an interesting position this year. On September 14, 2010 I entered Kenya for the first time. I came with eight other Real Life participants and our leaders Nick and Hannah. I loved the country and my team, the Lord used that time to break me down and build me up again as His son. When I left I didn't know if I would ever see the people we had worked with again. Now I'm back as one of the leaders, and it gives me a unique perspective. It might not matter much to some of you, but this is the last "Real Life" trip to Kenya, the program is undergoing changes. AIM has...

Community

My community: 14 people with different personalities, talents and weakenss but work together to tell and show people about Jesus' love. People who challenge each other and genuinly care for one another. People full of love for both the LORD and each other. syn: family. Three short weeks and we've all grown so much… both individually and as a team. They inspire me. Each and every one of them. We are all at different places in our walk with God and He is using all of us in different ways, revealing and teaching us different things. The cool thing is that through that, God...

Jina Langu Ni Nashipae [My name is Joyful]

Jombo from the Tangitatu tribe outside of Naivasha, Kenya! Summing up these past 2 weeks is nearly impossible, so I will give you a small glimpse into our time here and what the Lord has been doing in and through me.  We saw so much fruit in Tangitatu.  Each day, we did door to door ministry and met with people in their homes.  They would greet us with love, excitement, chai tea, and maize.  I personally saw over 8 people come to Christ and realize the hope and joy that comes with a relationship with him.  I have seen questioning hearts be filled with hope and...

Smiles

These past three weeks have been some of the hardest days of my life. I hae experienced life on a whole new level. I have discovered how much growing I still have to do within myself and in God. But he is forever patient, kind and is willing to wait for me to fully trust in him. My journey began by landing in the Narobi airport. We were greated by pastor Simon after 20 hours of travel. We all crammed in a van and drove another hour to Kijabi on a bumpy road through the night. I was so nervous and scared as to where we would end up. We arrived at a big brick building with three tents set up...
