Your Love is Alive

Sinking my feet in the muddy ground
Lifting my face in the rain
I see Your kingdon in the middle of the hunger and pain
I feel You in the hands of the poor
I hear You in the song of the weak
There is no place too far that You can't reach.

Everywhere I go, everywhere; it's surrounding.
I can feel Your heart bearting for us now.

"I can see Your love- Leeland"

This is how I feel while I am walking to the morning prayer at 6am in the dirt or rain (if it didn't rain the night before). When we play with kids during their break at school, the smiles on their faces let me know that they have hope. When people come up to us just to touch our hands on the street, I know that Jesus has a plan for them, even if they don't know it. I know God's healing hand is working in the hospital. There are miracles happening in the prisons as well. Everywhere on this earth, God is working.
On Tuesday we went to the hospital for our first day of hospital ministry and it broke my heart. There was a young girl who was breathing rapidly and had an IV in her arm with her eyes slightly open, but was probably sleeping. Her mom had no hope. We walked up to them and prayed over her daughter and then the mom gave her life to Christ. There wasn't much joy in her eyes after, but we didn't give up hope that God had done something. The next day one of my teammates went back in there and the girl was almost ready to be released from the hospital the next day and the mom had so much joy and was so thankful for us to pray. This is just one instance of God's healing hand and love showing up here in Busia. So many more miracles are happening.
He is breaking my heart every day, but I know He is everywhere. My eyes have seen a lot, but there is hope and a God who is working ahead, and with us now. He is restoring that hope piece by piece with the children, the homeless, the sick, the elderly, the prisoners, and those who once believed and turned away. His love is alive here in this place, in our hearts, and all around.
