this blog post needs to be prefaced with a few things:
1. The computer i’m on does not like me and won’t let me resize pictures. Sorry that they are humonguous.
2. I’ve fallen in love with Kenya, along with 12 other people i know.
3. I don’t know how i’m going to leave this place.
this is our first day at the school! on mondays we teach kids. They are handfuls and are from ages 3yrs old to 5th grade. We are either called “mzungu” (white person) or “cha cha cha”
This is how beautiful Kijabe is! You are all so jealous that this has been our home. This is on our way back from local house to house visits.
Wednesdays and Thursdays have been hospital days. Muslim ministry is hard but when you find joy in just one like Shamsho here with me in the picture it is so encouraging. My Somali name is Shocree meaning thanks. My team however likes to call me Mary on these days.
This is more hospital ministry in the womens ward. This is Elizabeth, she is hilarious and i want to take her home with me. she likes popcorn and winking very much.
This is the Turkana Tribe where we just spent the last week camping out. We head down there every Tuesday. This is “downtown” and it’s impossible to do ministry here without a crowd of kids following us everywhere we go. They know its just cause we will give them some candy…hmm
Just so you don’t get overwhelmed, we like to take breaks, have fun and relax too. We found this huge British Estate and played in the clean grass for awhile. Grass has never been so appealing in my life.
oh boys… and our trustee translators.
that’s all i got. we are about to leave this YMCA Hostel in Nairobi and head out to buy those bibles I know a lot of you have pitched in for. THANK YOU! Then back to home for more ministry. Our whole entire team is encouraged by how much support in prayers you all constantly shower us with! LOVE YOU GUYS!
