Another Tuesday spent ministering to the people of the Turkana Tribe and God is moving through us more than ever!
Logan, Liz, Kelli, and myself were a team for the day. We were joined by Simon who translated for us. We started the day off by diving into what the Lord had prepaired and headed straight for the middle of town. The day was amazing! God blew the five of us away! Words cannot even begin to describe what God showed us and how the Holy Spirit moved, but I’ll give it a try:
The five of us walked into a small area where four women lived with their families. We approached them, introduced ourselves, and began to ask them for prayer requests. Simon suggested that we go into each woman’s house to pray for them individually.
Get ready, here comes the good stuff…
The first woman was Sarah. She was telling us about how she has a tooth ache that keeps her up at night. I felt her tooth ache. I asked Sarah if the pain was in the lower left hand side of her mouth. Sure enough, it was! That was a God thing! We prayed over Sarah and her family.
The second woman was Scholstica. She has a large lump in her throat and seemed very sad when we met her. After digging deeper in conversation with her, she told us that her husband will not take her to see a doctor. Scholastica told us that a few years ago she almost took her own life. We were able to share with her the love God has for her and help restore lost hope. We gathered around Scholastica, laidhands on her and prayed for complete healing.
The third woman we visited was Roseanna. She shared with us that her 17 year old son has been refusing to go to schoola nd spends a lot of time at the local bar. Her son physically abuses Roseanna. The five of us began to share with Roseanna that she has the armor of God. She has strength in Christ. We told her that by raising her son in a home that know that Lord, she will be blessed. We told Roseanna that this was not her battle for her to fight, but one between the Lord and Satan for the soul of her son. We encouraged her to pray for her son daily. God brought us to tears along with Roseanna. God restored Roseanna’s hope and renewed her strength that day.
The fourth woman was 20 year old Lucy. Lucy has been married for three years and has two small children. Right away the Lord began to move. He laid on our hearts that burden this woman was carrying. Lucy shared with us that her husband was cheating on her and spends their money at the bar. Lucy’s husband is physically abusing her and will not let her attend the local church. We shared with Lucy that she is a daughter of God and doesn’t deserve to be treated that way. We told her that God loves her and can be her strengtha nd sheild.
After stepping out of the last hut we gathered all four women together. Logan encouraged them to be support for eachother and to pray together. I look forward to visiting these woman again and building even deeper relationships with them.
Pray for these women. Pray that they will find their strength in the Lord and put on the full armor of God. Pray that our team continues to have days like this one, days that encourage us and continue to bond us together.
