The Holy Spirit’s Glue

Long story short…I missed my first flight Monday morning. Everything worked out just fine and I was able to catch a later flight. As I flew into the Atlanta airport, I could only wonder what my team was doing. Were they still in the airport? Had they left for training camp? The first few hours seemed so important to me when meeting my team, I was worried I had missed some of the team bonding God would. After a smooth flight I headed over to grab my luggage and find the atrium to meet up with everyone. Upon arriving I was so thankful to see that the groups had not left the airport yet. The second my team saw me walking towards them, they didn’t hesitate to run to my side, ebrace in a hug, and help me with my luggage.

God has been preparing my heart for this trip for a long time. For years even. Not only has my heart been prepared but the rest of my team as well. All 12 teammates plus our  2 leaders have been praying, laughing, and encouraging each other through the internet and phone calls weeks before we met face to face. God has really moved in each of us and used the Holy Spirit as the glue to bond us together. It’s my prayer that we would continue to grow in the grace of God the next three months. The cracks in our team would be filled with the Holy Spirit. God’s Will would be done in every situation. We would be beautifully broken in God’s presence. We would inhale and exhale the Holy Spirit alongside our Kenyan brothers and sisters.
Therefore if you have any encouragement for being united with christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minnded, having the same love, being one is spirit and of one mind.
Philippians 2:1-2
