Hi!!! I am safe and sound in Busia kenya!! We spent 3 days in nairobi kenya which was amazing. We went to the internet cafe and met a man named Cosmas who is AMAZING!! He invited us back to his house and church. He wants us to meet his family. He lives in Mombasa which is on the coast of kenya. He assured us if we come visit he will take us to the beach so we all promised we would be back next summer. We also had the BEST mocha chip ice cream sundae in the ENTIRE world (kristen you would have been in heaven). We had a ten hour bus ride to Busia filled with laughter, sleep, and beautiful scenery. We are partnered with Deliverance church and pastor Gideon aka PG is absolutely amazing. I stay in a 10 by 10 room with 6 other girls but I love it. Me, Emma, and Meg all share one bed its tight but cozy. We also have a hammock hanging from the rafters because we dont have enough room for everyone to sleep on the floor. Tommorrow is our first day of ministry and I am teaching at the school. I could not be more excited!!! The people of kenya are soo friendly and nice. When we pulled up in the van children swarmed us saying "Habari" which is HI how are you. They call us mazungu which is white person and all they want to do is touch us and play with us. I love it here. I know I'm supposed to be in Africa. The food is actually pretty good which is nice. If I dont watch what I eat though I will become huge at the end of this trip. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me and my team as we begin to do street ministry and work with the church!
