No More Rats!!

PRAISE GOD!
Today we took another trip to the Turkana Tribe. I was in a group with Kelli, Liz, and Logan. We started the day off with visiting  two houses, engouraging them and praying with them. The entire time the four of us were thinking of the lady who had the rat problem. We talked to our translator and agreed on walking over to her house. After about a 5 km walk we found the house. As we were invited inside there was a much lighter feeling about this visit that was missing from the first time we met Monica. (Thats her name, Monica…not that african or hard to pronounce). Monica shared with us that the rats had left her and her family alone! They no longer come into the house! PRAISE GOD! She also shared with us that she has been praying WITH her husband! PRAISE GOD! The four of us began to listen to God and just claim his power in her house. Logan shared some verses with her and made sure Monica understood them. Liz held her hand and had her declair Jesus Christ in her life and her house. At one point the four of us, Monica, and Simon our translator were holding hands, raising them in the air and just yelling “JESUS CHRIST! JESUS CHRIST! JESUS CHRIST!”
Monica’s small tin hut was so filled with God’s power, love, and presence. what was the best part of the day? Monica was smiling and laughing!! She was looking us in the eyes! Hope has been restored. The enemy has been crushed. There is Freedom!
It was a great uplifting day, but this family still needs your prayers. Anthony, Monica’s husband, wakes in the night with headaches. This pain keep the family up at night. The devil still seems to have a strong hold on him. Pray that Monica can be a shining light in his life and that he will draw close to the Lord. Pray that this pain wakes Anthony at night will leave and he can stand with his wife in declairing Jesus’ name.
We also had the chance to stop at the witch doctor’s house. She was not home, but we were able to saw hello to her daughter. We even got her to yell “Jesus Christ” 🙂 Pray for this young child, that she may be filled with God’s love and be the one to minister to her mother. Pray that God would continue to give our team spiritual gifts. Pray that we would have physical and spiritual health. Just pray.
Grow in Grace,
Holli-Noelle

P,s, After visiting Monica today the five of us walked down a dusty yelling, “Celebrate Jesus, come on! ”  (to the tune of Celebrate good times)
Man o man! God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
