I’ve safely arrived in Africa!!! I’m so incredibly blessed
to be in Kajabe. I’ve met many wonderful people and seen transformations right
before my eyes. I look around and see broken people and yet at the same time
people with so much joy. The past six days we went and lived with the Maasai
tribe. Never in a million years would I have guessed that we would have the
opportunity to minister to them, but we did! It was one of the most unforgettable
experiences of my life. I know it is only the beginning of my journey, but I
learned so much from these people and got to see many of them come to Christ. God
is moving and is working a great deal in each of their lives.
We went door to door and preached the gospel. I was really
nervous about this initially, but after witnessing the joy and the renewed
happiness that these people now have I was filled with great peace. I can’t
tell you how powerful it is to see God work in their lives and see them turn
from their old ways to be born again. It truly is a miracle to see so many
people come to know the Lord!
It hit me that there are so many people that we pass day in
and day out and we don’t ever share the gospel with them. How many people have
I passed on the street or sat on a plane and let yet another opportunity go by?
It really hit me hard that there are so many people that don’t have the
opportunity to hear the word and I’m already realizing how important it is to
take every chance I get to spread the good word.
I’m going to share just one story right now because I don’t
have much time and the internet is extremely slow, but I’m embracing it! J We attended church
with the Maasai tribe Febuary 7. Their style of worship is not like anything I’ve
ever seen, but it is truly beautiful! They sing and dance and use every part of
them as they pour out their hearts in worship. They pray and then they sing.
Then the children sing and then there is more prayer. Then we were able to hear
the message. The sermon was about when you become a new Christian then you don’t
go back to your old ways. We shared our testimonies and after the sermon three
people came to know Christ. It is an incredible thing to witness to these
people and develop relationships with them and see them be filled with the Holy
Spirit. It was so moving and powerful to see. I’m in awe of the work God has
done in the Maasai Tribe people. It is such a blessing. Please keep them in
your prayers! I can not wait to share with you more stories very soon. Love you all so much! God Bless you!
