"Come to the waters
You who thirst and you'll thirst no more
Come to the Father
You who work and you'll work no more"
"Love is here
Love is now
Love is pouring from His hands, from His brow
Love is near it satisfies
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
'Cause Love is here"
(This is Rosaline and Jen, Jen always runs away from me and Rosaline is one of the smartest kids in her class)
"Come to the treasure
You who search and you'll search no more
Come to the lover
You who want and you'll want no more, no"
"And all you who labor in vain
And to the broken and shamed, yeah"
(Frank but I think it's pronounced Fronk)
"Love is here
Love is now
Love is pouring from His hands, from His brow
Love is near it satisfies
Streams of mercy flowing from His side, yeah"
(Our fearless leader Sara talking to women who was literally about to give birth)
"And to the bruised and fallen
Captives bound and brokenhearted
He is the Lord, He is the Lord, yeah
By His stripes He's paid our ransom
From His wounds we drink salvation
He is the Lord, He is the Lord"
"Love is here
Love is now
Love is pouring from His hands, from His brow
Love is near it satisfies
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
'Cause Love is here
Love is here"
I've been here in Busia Kenya now for a month. I have visited hospitals, I have climbed a mountain, I have gone swimming in Lake Victoria, I have played futbol with street kids, and I have created relationships that will last a lifetime. As a team we've had our ups and downs, but we have grown so close over the first month, it truly feels like a big family. God has really just shown me that our trials in America are not even close to truly being trials. There is so much love in this place it's incredible, all the hate hate and evil in the world don't even come close to the precious smile that little Frank has every day (he is the boy above). I think sometimes we over look the love that is all around us in America, and I think the greatest blessing this place offers is the fact that time seemingly doesn't exist, the day starts when the sun rises and ends when it sets, and it allows you to create and build relationships that may not be made due to how much we worry about time back in America. I definitely miss life in America and desperately miss everyone and also Chick-Fil-La (if someone could forward this to Dan Cathy and have him build one here that would make this place perfect), but I truly do love Kenya and everything about it and will always have a heart for this place.
P.S. Shout out to my girl Zoe for doing this blog with me, she is kind of awesome and has truly been like a sister to me since we've been here.
And I love you mom!
