Habari!

Hello from Georgia!

First off I'd like to go ahead and apologize for any incorrect grammar or confusing sentences that are surely to follow in the next two months. As a math major I wouldn't say that writing is my best skill, that and the fact that I am constantly told that I write the way I talk. Personally, I take the latter as a compliment seeing as though it allows my readers to see who I am through my writing; my professors, however, don't always agree.
With that said, we have been at training camp for four days and I can already tell God is going to do wonderful things through this team. He has so carefully placed all the right people on this trip, and I can't wait to see how we touch the lives of the people in Kenya. Our team consists of 17 girls and 3 guys (not including the leaders), so I'm sure the boys wouldn't mind if you sent some prayers their way. We have three wonderful leaders, Tiffany, Kiersten, and David, and I know that God is going to speak to us through them in many different ways.
Through the worship here at training camp I am constantly reminded of how important an intimate relationship with God is. It's so amazing to see all the different ways people chose to worship, whether it's simply swaying in one spot or constantly moving around with arms raised shouting praises to God. I have no doubt that the countries we are going to are going to feel more loved than they ever have in their lives.
I can't express how much your prayers will be appreciated as not only our team, but all the teams that are flying out tomorrow head to the country we will be spending the next two months in. Thank you all for your prayers and support as I begin this journey with my team.

Nakupenda (I love you)
