Starry Night

I once heard a quote that said, “Beauty is one of the rare things that does not lead to the doubt of God” and I think that is so true.   This past week we went to a different village down in the rift valley (it’s hard for me to pronounce it, so I’m not even going to attempt to spell it) and I felt like every day I saw an awesome example of God’s beauty. The last night we were there we saw the COOLEST night sky I have ever seen! (Jo, you would have LOVED it). The whole entire sky was covered in bright stars, and they all seemed to be twinkling. I felt...

It’s Confirmed…God’s a Gator!!

Week #1 Blog entry: This is the blog I intended to post after our first week in Kenya….unfortunately our internet was not as easily available as we had first thought…so…HERE IT GOES!! We arrived in Kenya safely last week. The best thing I could’ve ever done was to release any of the expectations I had when entering the beautiful country of Kenya. Since we’ve been here, we spend several days in Kijabe with our host family, Pastor Simon and his wife Margaret and their awesome niece Vicki! Then we were whisked away  several hours out to the middle of...

Best class ever

It’s crazy we have been together for three weeks. It really seems like I’ve known all these people for so much longer. Anyway I don’t really feel like writing a deep, serious blog right now. So i’ll just briefly mention how each team member contributes something incredible to the team. Sam – He is the oldest of all of us, and he is a natural leader. I’m sure he would say he needs to grow a lot more in his faith, but to me he has been an incredible example of how to really go all in and try to strengthen your relationship with Christ. Sandy – You...

Broken!

Hello from Kenya! It is only been two weeks and God is already rocking my world!  Though the funny thing is I experienced God most through a book and it occured on a "rest day" and not out on the field.  But God always talks to us through his plan and not ours.  I started reading Victory Over Darkness, written by Neil Anderson, once we landed in Kenya.  When I wrote about this blog I had only read the first three chapters and God had already began to break me down.  Now I have finished the book but I am only going to discuss the changes in me that took...

The Great Crusade

Hello everyone! I wrote the following blog while waiting in the Atlanta airport. It seems a bit obselete now since that was ages ago but, what the heck, I’ll share it anyway 🙂        “Today, we embark upon the Great Crusade, towards which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you! The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. The tide is turning!…And I beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.”...

He broke me.

Coming on this trip I had no idea what I had gotten myself into, but after training camp, I knew that I had signed up for an amazing adventure with some amazing people. This past week we did a time of worship every night and then someone would share something. Let me just tell you, that only worked two times! God showed up!!! Saturday night I was supposed to share my testimony but that never happened. Hannah and Nick decided that it would be a good time for all 9 of us to get in a circle and have everyone pray and speak life over each other. God once again showed up and it was just an...
