God’s Not Finished With Me Yet

Now two months into this trip, God has blessed our team abundantly both in personal walks with Christ and with ministry. In the six weeks we've spend at the three different tribes, we've seen 100 people saved: 17 in the Maasai tribe, 16 in Kikuyu, and 67 in Pokot. With just one month of the trip remaining, we've had “double fruitfulness” prophesied over our team. Though we all realize this last month will fly by, God's not finished with us yet. Amazing things are coming to our team! Even as we head home, I know God will continue to use us all for His glory....

Having Faith Even When Its Hard

My heart has been twisted and truned from the things I have seen and stories I have heard. My eyes have been opened to see beyond my own little workd. I have seen pain and suffering, homeless families, starving children, sickeness, evil – Sometimes I can't help but argue with God, "Why are you allowing these things?" One of our first days of ministry in Kijabe was going to the hospital. We go around the hospital and talk to, encourage, and pray for the patients. It is difficult because many times there is a language barrier and no one around to translate. I have begun...

Hearing From God

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "this is the way; walk in it."-Isaiah 30:21 Something that I have struggled with for awhile is recognizing when God is speaking to me and distinguishing if it is me or God speaking. I felt like God didn't speak to me and I would always compare myself to other people on the team. Like why is she hearing so much from God and I don't hear anything! I made this struggle know to the team and Nikki told me that I do hear from God! She told me that tomorrow I would recieve a word...

Moving Where We Move

Since arriving in Kenya a few months ago, we have done a lot of moving.  Our surroundings are constantly changing and there has been very little constancy. BUT…it has been so good in so many ways.      I left my house 3 days before I had to leave for training camp and stayed in River Falls, WI with some of my best friends.  Then, I flew to Atlanta, GA.  The first night we stayed in a homeless shelter and then moved to the training camp in Gainesville, GA for 3 days. Finally, we arrived in Kenya after a stop in...

Life in Kenya

While we have all had so many emotional stories that have forever changed our lives, we have times here in Africa that we just have to laugh. So I thought I would enlighten those at home to give you a bit of insight to what other things we have been experiencing.  -African time | When someone says we need to be somewhere at 9, you can usually plan on starting around an hour or more later.  -Road Rules | There are none. It's a constant game of chicken, literally. Everyone passes everybody and when there is a speed limit, it is never followed. We are use to having to stop for a...
