Things Are Getting Weird

Training Camp has been quite the experience. I didn't really know what to expect and nothing could have prepared me for it.       Before I left for my trip, I wasn't really that excited. I was so busy and stressed trying to get everyting done that I didn't have time to be excited. I didn't really have much emotion about it. I thought that when I got here it would finally seem real and I would be pumped. Not the case. I knew how I was supposed to feel, but I just felt confused and distant; like I couldn't be real about it...

Training Camp!

This awesome journey to Kenya started 3 days ago when 200 others arrived at training camp in Toccoa Falls, Georgia. I love it so far! I've come here with great expectations believing that God is going to bring hope, life, healing, respration, truth, love, encouragement, power, peace, conviction, and beautify to the hearts of those who have none. I'm expecting great things to happen over the next 2 months! I know that each person on our team of 23 has an important part in God's master plan for this summer. Each one of us has come here with different gifts, strengths and...

What did I get myself into!?!

Habari friends! (Thats "hello" in Swahili if you were wondering) I am here at training camp at Toccoa Falls college in Georgia and i am drinking the best sweet tea i have EVER had! There are 14 different teams here being trained to be sent to the mission field in anywhere from Peru to New Zealand. I have 23 people on my Kenya team and our team by far has the most fun and we laugh the most so I think we are off to a great start! I have already had so many great advetures such as a bonfire, campout with my whole team, surrender hike, dance off and hammock time. The worship times...

Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba

Praise God for community and freedom. In the past few days at training camp, He has clearly blessed me immensely with both. I could not be more thankful for the people that God has placed on my team, they are all so joyfully goofy and SO fun to be around. It’s crazy to think that we have only known each other for a few days, anyone seeing us together would think that we have all been friends for years. I am so incredibly excited to see how the Lord chooses to use all of our different gifts for His name. God has already begun to make such a change in my heart in the past few days...

T.I.A.

Well…training camp has been good. It has taken me out of my comfort zone a little bit, which in the end is always good! I can’t wait to go to Kenya and see what God is going to do through us. So now it’s time for Africa! 🙂

Freedom at Training Camp!

This week has been so good and rewarding. For many of us here worship has been a new experience. I am losing my voice from all the shouting and singing. It is so free and awesome.  We have not been learning much about Kenya specifically, so I am really excited to get there and finally experince it for myself.  For the past few weeks I have been workin on surrendering to God all of my fears and anxieties, and completely trusting and finding total peace in Him. I got so much help and encouragement these past few days surrenduring those fears that I was holding on to. One of my...
