Waiting on the Holy Spirit

I have never experienced the Holy Spirit as much as I have on this trip so far. Honestly, I knew about the Holy Spirit, but i guess I didn’t realize how powerful He was. And the more you listen and the more you practice listening to Him the more real He becomes and you begin to see the Almighty power that He is. This is a story from the Trakauna tribe about how it must be the Holy Spirit that moves people toward accepting him. It may voice a little frustration, but ultimately it is not us that saves but the Holy Spirit moving in people’s lives.   Alice, a lady who says...

Not My Pain

Hello everyone and I’m sorry that it has been so long since my last blog.  I want to apologize also for my blogs…please try to remember that I only got a C in English!  Our lives in Kenya have been pretty crazy so far, but we all have learned so much already.  We started off with the Maasai which was a very challenging first week, then started our ministry in Kijabe, and are now really trying to figure out just where the Lord wants us to be.  We have been going to the displaced persons camp for the past two saturdays, but we all come out feeling a little...

No More Rats!!

PRAISE GOD! Today we took another trip to the Turkana Tribe. I was in a group with Kelli, Liz, and Logan. We started the day off with visiting  two houses, engouraging them and praying with them. As we were invited inside there was a much lighter feeling about this visit that was missing from the first time we met Monica. (Thats her name, Monica…not that african or hard to...

Persevere

Thanks for bearing with me!  I know that I am a little overdue for a blog and that my mom has probably been checking this 50 times a day wondering where I am, but I am back at the computer and ready to share more about how God is unfolding our journey. We now have access to the computer lab at Rift Valley Academy which is a boarding school in Kijabe.  The school houses and educates the children of missionaries while they serve anywhere on the continent of Africa.  It is a K-12 program that...

Exactly Where i Need to Be

Today i realized that i would not want to be anywehre else but right here right now at this time. I am perfectly content, definitely not comfortable, but content, and this is something that i have wished and prayed for. Under all the fly-covered faces and in the tents of the displaced the Holy Spirit is alive and He is moving powerfully. These people know who the Holy Spirit is and that is more powerful than any “preached Jesus.” He is alive, and they know Him, and I want to be where He is alive.   “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be...
