Taking the Leap of Faith

It was 3 years ago today since God has taken a special person out of my life. He was my coach, my hunting partner, my hero, …… my dad. It’s also been about 1 1/2 years since I had that conversation with my sister. The conversation that changed my life. I got to a point in my life where I was lost and confused but mostly scared. I could almost see my future of just living my life day by day just waiting for that weekend to come. That’s when I thought there has got to be something more. There was! Mandie (my sister) and I got to talking about being “saved”...

Waiting on the Holy Spirit

I have never experienced the Holy Spirit as much as I have on this trip so far. Honestly, I knew about the Holy Spirit, but i guess I didn’t realize how powerful He was. And the more you listen and the more you practice listening to Him the more real He becomes and you begin to see the Almighty power that He is. This is a story from the Trakauna tribe about how it must be the Holy Spirit that moves people toward accepting him. It may voice a little frustration, but ultimately it is not us that saves but the Holy Spirit moving in people’s lives.   Alice, a lady who says...

Redemption

Luke 10:19: “For I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you”   Our group has been visiting the Turkana tribe on Tuesdays. Picture Time!

I promised people back home that I would be taking a lot of pictures, but I’ve been slacking on posting them on the blog! I have so many I want to put up, but my camera battery died before I could get them all copied. Here are just a few pictures from the trip so far. There will be more later!!     This is a woman and her three children (there is a baby on her back) that we visited while staying with the Maasai in the Rift Valley.     Amos, the pastor of the church in the valley, was busy two weeks out of the month going to Bible...

Picture Blog

I decided to put up a picture blog this, and give you   guys a little glipse of what we see here in Kenya. These first few pictures are from the IDP Internally Displaced People   camp down in the valley that we have gone to the last two Saturdays. Most of these people were kicked out of their   homes during the last election in Kenya, and have been living in these tents for two or three years.                           This was from the Trukana Tribe that we’ve visited the last two...

Hey, mom! I put pictures up!

We’re here.   This is our backyard.   You should see one without the clouds.   Nicholas the Maasai.   Sunset from the valley.   Learning some dances to teach you all when I get home.   Thank you God for answering our prayers for rain, but this was my reaction to the flooded tent.   Relax, mom.  It’s just Corn.   Me and “Looney Tune”.  He lives in the Refugee camp and I go hang out with him every Saturday.   Walking with a couple of my new buddies. So, our translator Martin insisted on taking pictures...
