Too Legit to Quit

Another Tuesday spent ministering to the people of the Turkana Tribe and God is moving through us more than ever! Logan, Liz, Kelli, and myself were a team for the day. We were joined by Simon who translated for us. We started the day off by diving into what the Lord had prepaired and headed straight for the middle of town. The day was amazing! God blew the five of us away! Words cannot even begin to describe what God showed us and how the Holy Spirit moved, but I’ll give it a try: The five of us walked into a small area where four women lived with their families. We approached...

Power Outages

We have a power outage here in Kijabe almost every night and headlamps are running low on battery. But there is one power source that is not even close to running empty and is shining bright and hovering over this team. Proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ with authority is so mighty, so powerful. Every Tuesday we visit the Turkana Tribe in the Rift Valley to do hut to hut visits. The story starts out last April when she decided she wanted a third child. Afte...

From Death to Life: God’s Sweet & Bitter Providence

Every Saturday our team goes to the Internationally Displaced People’s camp to hand out bags of ugali to families who were tragically affected by the violent riots and clashes that occurred during the 2007 elections. Our team has especially felt called to build deep relationships with this particular group of people and to disciple those who want to learn and grow.    IDP Men After handing out ugali this past Saturday, our pastor’s wife, Margaret, approached me asking me to pray for a young mother whos 3 year old girl had just died the...

Taking the Leap of Faith

It was 3 years ago today since God has taken a special person out of my life. He was my coach, my hunting partner, my hero, …… my dad. It’s also been about 1 1/2 years since I had that conversation with my sister. The conversation that changed my life. I got to a point in my life where I was lost and confused but mostly scared. I could almost see my future of just living my life day by day just waiting for that weekend to come. That’s when I thought there has got to be something more. There was! Mandie (my sister) and I got to talking about being “saved”...
