Africa is hope.

This first week of ministry was awesome.  It was very emotional but super encouraging.  We have been working in the schools and the little african children have stolen my heart.  They have such sweet smiles and have a irreplaceable joy.  We also had the opportunity to work in the hospital.  We went into the children’s, female, male, and surgical ward to pray over the sick and wounded.  It was very emotional because I kept wondering why God chose these people to get sick when they already have nothing. Why not me?  There was one lady that had pneumonia and was throwing up all the time but that was the least of her worries because she had babies back at home that had no supervision because she was a widow.  To see the tears running down her face when she told us she couldn’t pay for the treatment and she didn’t know if her children even had food to eat was heartbreaking.  But God answered our prayers and when we returned the next day she wasn’t there because she was healed and sent home.  Praise the Lord.  A couple of us got the chance to play soccer with the street kids.  It was very hard for me because out of the 50 children that were there only 1 was not high.  Since they don’t have food to eat or shelter they sniff glue, shoe polish, or paint thinner to block out the pain they are feeling.  Its terrible seeing 7 year olds high and not able to walk straight because of it.  I have always heard the saying there are starving kids in africa but until I saw it first hand I was not truly thankful for having food every day.  But I have hope for this country. I have hope for these kids.  I have hope that the sick will get healed.  Not only do I have hope but so do they.  When I look at the faces of the school children, laughing, I see hope. When I look into the souls of the sick I see hope. When I look into the eyes of the high, street kids I see hope.  There is hope because Jesus loves them enough to give them that hope.

Nate, Josh, Hannah, Emma, Michelle, and I all had the chance to play a pick up soccer game with some africans and we won!!! MZUNGOS!! We couldn’t have done it without the three best africans on our team but we represented America well.

pray for this upcoming week of ministry. we are having a crusade and there is going to be a lot of people there. pray that the kenyans hearts will be open and they will see Jesus through us. thank you for your prayers thus far!
