I can speak for my entire team when i say leaving Busia was one of the hardest things we have had to do. We have seen the hands of God come down and touch lives like never before, that place has a special part in all of our hearts. God has broken and transformed the world of Busia and we got to be the people God has worked though to do it!
We arrived in Nairobi on Sunday, May, 7th at around 5:00 pm and the past started flowing through my mind like never before. We were in this excact place four long months ago, and none of us looked the same. For the first time what God has done within my teammates and i hit me. The transformation was clear and everyone's hearts were laying on the table broken and bruised, but it was beautiful. The walls that have been broken down in us, the past we have broken free from, the chains we no longer wear, the truth we have been exposed to has left us somewhat damaged, but it is not sad! It's what God needed in order to have our hearts burn for him, our eyes locked on him, and our souls in tune with His word. Sometimes breakthroughs are messy, and sometimes growth is ugly but looking into the eyes of my teammates has made me thankful for the ugliness and brokeness.
We are no longer the same young adults, It is hard to fully grasp but when you see your little boy or little girl get off the plane on May 15th you will know.
