"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" -Matthew 21:22
This team and the people of Kenya are belivers because physical rain has been brought by the grace of God. Last week, we stayed in a Turkana village at an AIC sponsored church. The people in Kenya are very welcoming and thier hospitality is heart-warming. Most of the week was spent doing door to door ministry from hut to hut with the ocassional visit to a primary schoool.
As a team, we noticed the need for rain and it was a prayer request from many of the villagers as we went in groups from hut to hut. Saturday at lunch, as a team we decided something needed to happen together so we could request for rain. It was decided that for dinner we would fast so that we could spend that time in prayer, the word, and in worship. That afternoon around 5 God allowed us a taste of what was to come by way of a light sprinkle of rain but the clouds ended up drifting away. After our time of prayer outside on the porch insted of dinner, we went inside to discuss our day. A bit after 8, we began to hear raindrops on the tin roof! We were so joyful that the Lord had provided for these people we had to go dance in the rain. The best part was that the Lord allowed it to rain each night for the rest of stay in this area!!!
P.S. This is blog trial number 2. The power went out while I was sitting in the internet cafe trying to type this post. (The Lord must have wanted to give us the oppertunity to share our stories since it came back on pretty quick)
