Kenya squeeze me!

We have arrived in Kenya!  We have been living in Kijabe with Pastor Simon and his wife Margret. Today we leave and are heading out to the bush. Our team will be living with the Massaai tribe! I am so excited to spend time with them! We will be doing youth and young child outreach along with door to door ministry. Another tribe I know we will be staying with is the Pokot. In church sunday, we learned that the Pokot tribe is "in salved by the culture". They do not know Swahili and they do not go to school. The Pokot tribe is  "trapped in their culture". Pastor Simon goes on by saying they need a "rescue" and "they are wasting away without a future".

In my time so far, one thing God has reminded me is how important it is to speak words of encouragement. In the beginning, the world was created when God spoke. He spoke words of life. God created us to either speak words of life or words of death. I am reminded here, how important it to speak words of life to those around you.

These are some verses that God has used to teach me the power of our words.
Ephesians 4:29 – "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen"
Proverbs 18:21 – "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit"
Genesis 1:3 – "And God said…"

Everyday, God breaks my heart more and more for what breaks His. I am so excited for what God has in stored!
