8:00 Richelle wakes me up, breakfast is ready
8:34 change into a dirty skirt and brush my teeth
8:59 fill up my water bottle
9:00 wait for the matutu (van)
9:13 sat in chicken poop
9:30 get dared to smack Jimmy Josh’s butt (the cow)
9:31 didn’t do it
9:45 still waiting on the matutu
9:50 leave for the day
10:11 arrive in the slums at our friend Grace’s house to have chai tea (90% fresh cow’s milk, 9% tea and 1% water)
10:25 12 people get crammed into a room that is the size 8X12
10:30 find a mirror that was 2 inches wide
10:32 ate cake (something between corn bread and ashes)
10:40 sang “Our God is greater”
10:45 share and encourage the family about loving one another
10:50 prayed over the family and house
11:00 walked to the church
11:01 threw the cake that I didn’t eat into the pigs pen
11:03 arrive at church/ preschool
11:05 sang Jesus songs (“read your bible, pray every day….”)
11:42 played “Little Sally Walker” and sang the hokey pokey
12:00 prayed for meal (“Dear God, bless this food amen”)
12:11 got stocked by a mob of black children screaming “Mzungu, how are you!”
12:16 arrive at really fancy house with every inch the house plus 8 couches and 4 chairs covered in lance 12:20 shared a word, prayed and left
12:40 went to our friend James store to say hello
12:42 played with flower and beans
12:43 left James store
1:00 arrived at Alice’s dress shop
1:09 made a little girl cry (because of my white skin)
1:11 ditched in the rain by the Matutu driver
1:14 made friends with a couple African girls while seeking shelter
1:20 tried to teach them how to play Sudoku and failed
1:35 found Matutu driver and went home
1:50 ordered to the living for feedback aka circle confession, share your feelings
3:00 finally ate lunch (rice, broccoli and carrots and avocado (ps. I don’t like avocado))
3:30 tried to shower, COLD
4:00 got into the word outside but got rained on
4:30 tried to shower again, COLD
4:45 praising Jesus, WORSHIP
5:00 tried to shower again, COLD
5:15 played solitaire
5:30 tried to shower again, STILL COLD
5:32 power nap
6:00 waiting for pastor to arrive for dinner on American time
6:20 played three games of solitaire and won 1
6:30 power outage
6:32 Britt and Allison arrive back at the casa blaca
6:42 call pastor to see where he is and he hangs up
6:45 pastor, his wife and son Eddie arrived on African time
6:53 Kayla prayed for dinner
6:54 during prayer hid in the fire place with Eddie (ps. Eddie is 3 years old)
7:00 ate dinner (chapatti, cabbage, potatoes, peas and carrots)
7:20 Rach and Kayla accidently made the pastor and his wife coffee with rotten milk
7:30 pastor and his wife shared their stories
7:45 played cards with Eddie for the remainder of their stories
8:30 tried to teach pastor how to play cards (the game speed)
9:00 they decide to leave
9:15 all joined hands in a circle to pray and sing songs (“This is the day, these are people, these are the friends and this is the hour”).
9:38 Pastor and his family finally decide to leave
10:00 finish winning a couple games of speed with Richelle
10:15 sang old songs together- TEAM BLOGGING TIME (Jojo, Chris Brown, Johnny Cash and Jonas Brothers)
11:00 finally wrote this blog
11:31 shower was a success, WARM WATER
12:00 prayed against the mosquitoes
12:12 took malaria medicine
12:21 BED
