Heart of a Worshiper

So, yesterday at church, the pastor preaching had said a couple of things that stuck to me and really just connected to one of the things God is teaching me, because to be totally honest He is teaching me more than I can count right now. The first thing he said was: Let it be your heart's desire to be a worshiper. This meant to me that I need to be continually praising Him even in the hard times. It means to be thankful for the big things and the little things in life. To keep singing His name when the times are hard or complicated. An example is when you are far from home and are told that there is no way that you can get home except by walking, so you have to walk for an hour when the sun is setting and the claouds are causing a misting/sprinkling rain. Or to keep praising God when you are stuck in a storm inside a hut with about 30ish African children all talking at once. Keep praising Him when times are good. When a bunch of children are just yelling at you just to get a wave or smile. Another thing the pastor had said was to separate yourself. This means to take yourself out of the world and put yourself on God's shoulder. Live to please God and not others of this world.
Both of these are something God is teaching me: WORSHIP. God is teaching me that worship is not always a song or dance. It is a way of how you live your life. Worship is being thankful and loving Him with your whole heart. Worship is so important in a relationship with Christ. Church in Africa is not quite worship in America. Your arms and legs are always in motion. Sometimes you jump with your arms high in the air, while you are turning in a circle. Other times you literally run around the church singing the name of Jesus.
God is teaching me a lot, but at church it really occured to me that I need to have the heart of a worshiper. I need to live my life praising His name everyday and all the moments that I have. The things He is teaching me about worship is something I will definitely be taking home with me. I pray that my heart desires to be a true worshiper of Christ more and more each day.
