Faith that can move mountains

One thing I have learned on this trip, is that I have absolutely no faith. One thing the bible teaches us is that we don’t need a huge amount of faith, just faith as small as a mustard seed, and you can move mountains. A good friend of mine showed me that verse when I was a freshman, and of course I interpreted it as “if I have faith that I can make it on American Idol, I will”, or “if I have faith that I will become Americas Next Top Model, I will” but four years later, neither one has happened and I’m not too torn up about it. I am instead, across the world seeing people being healed in the name of Jesus, and experiencing changed lives, all because the girls on my team are learning to have faith. I asked Jason, a friend of ours that we work with if he believed it was possible to heal from across the world, and he told me “if you don’t believe that, you’re doubting God.” So that night my team prayed for my mom who is in the hospital, and the next day I see on Facebook that she had no pain all that day even without a pain pill. He may not have grown a new pancreas in place of the rotted diseased one that was taken out, or replaced her damaged spine with a straight healthy one, but he has taken pain from a woman who experienced pain every day for the past ten years. God is faithful and there is NOTHING too big for him. Its hard when he gives us a task to just say yes, but to me it seems to be easier to do the big things. God told me to come to Kenya, and I said yes, but god said “Stop and pray for the girl on the road using a walker” and I kept walking, dismissing the thought. What wonderful things could He have done in that little girls life if I instead stopped and prayed for her? Now I have almost become annoying to myself and the team with the amount of times I have a random crazy thought and I say “hold on I have to walk in that woman’s house uninvited.” God is present in Maai Mahiu and I cannot wait to see what incredible things he has in store for my team!
