Army of God

When you read the title “Army of God” what comes to mind? Maybe an army of men from the days of old clad in glistening armor chanting “The will of God!” Maybe a group of men walking with bibles into an area where they are most likely going to leave only with the of martyr. Maybe you even imagine it to be a mass of young adults sharing the word with their generation in a sort of Godly revolution. However, would you ever even fathom it to be about 13 little boys, the eldest of whom being 8 years old, stomping their feet while chanting “MARCH!” in tempo...

AFRICA!!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful day! I am striving to be a warrior for Christ. I am learning to rejoice like Paul through the lies that satan throws my way. God has been revealing so many wonderful things and I can tell that the evil one doesn’t like it. But as scripture says, this gives me that much more of a reason to rejoice in Christ name!! While I am here in Kenya I feel so blessed because one of the things I get to do is hug on kids all the time. We Are Hungry For More Of You

Africa has been amazing so far! It is completely different from what I expected. I guess I based what I thought Africa would be like from the Lion King. However, I have yet to see a lion and parts of the country are fairly urbanized. Even though they drive on the opposite side of the road and have limited road rules the city of Nairobi is similar to the U.S. but the slums are another story. Families of ten live in shacks smaller than my dorm room. Most of the houses were held up by rusted tin and cardboard , forcing you to hear every sound your neighbor makes. Also there was trash and...

Mihari Slums

Its been a week since I went to the slums, and the stuff I saw hasn’t really my head. As we were walking in the first thing we saw was a dead man in a street who had died of an overdose on pure alcohol. I was like “what the he have I gotten my self into God”. As we walked further into the slum we stepped over trails pf sewage and dodging little kids screaming “How are you”? Wed did a house visit or a woman who lived in a 9×9 shack with 8 kids. She has 3 of her own and takes care her murdered sisters other 5 children. Wow. I was stunned. God broke me in...

Empty handed but alive in YOUR hands

Ever experience something that radically changed your perspective and melted your heart? How about in just two hours? Our God is an AWESOME God and when HE has message for you to receive you will receive it! God will work in your life if you empty your hands and allow God to fill them. I emptied my hands this past week an allowed God to move. This week we went to a school, a highly populated Muslim community, and a slum. Now the slums, you can see pictures and hear stories but you never fully understand slums until you spend time in them. They can be scary, intimidating, and...
