Updates!

So I wanted to thank you all for your prayers and give you an update. Tony my friend I wrote about last week… He for the first time the other day washed his own clothes. God is continuing to heal him. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers. I hope that this week we get a chance to go and pray over him again before we leave. God is good and works is crazy ways. Other updates. I think this week we are going back to the school where I feel in love with Bosco. ever after

greetings from kenya! this past week the team was able to minister to some young men at a boy’s home called osiligi in isinya. they are chosen from the streets of nairobi and go through a process to see if they really want to change for the better. they all have incredible stories about how God has changed their lives. we got to sing with them and share testimonies and God’s love. most of the team played ‘football’ (soccer) with them on our last day there.   we finally got to go to kibera and played with children at an after school program. another american has...

Beautiful Day For a Wedding

On July 14th, we to a traditional African wedding.  The couple was Racheal and Dalleys Kanoti, who both are strong Christians that attend ICC West Campus, so the whole church (including us) were invited to attend the ceremony that went from 10 am till around noon.  The ceremony was similar to an American wedding, yet they have different traditions.  When we arrived at the church, the bride and her bridesmaids were in a car that you could not see into.  They stay in their until the wedding commences.  We all went into the church and sat down, watching as the groom...

WE’RE SLOSHIN!!!!!

Okay, so being a visual learner I learn best by examples of real life situations that I can imagine… so prepare yourself for this actual life example and how I tie it into my daily walk with Christ.   This past week we went to a boys center called “Hope Center”, its a place where men take boys off the streets and disciple them and give them a free education and after two years they graduate and go back to their homes to make a better life for themselves with Christ as their center.  So at Hope Center we were asked to carry water from a storage holder about a half...

What do you do when you catch a mosqweeeto?

This week we went to a boys school in Isinya; which was where 16 boys from troubled pasts have come and received an education and Bible classes/training. We got to hear some of their testimonies and how much they’ve grown as a result of knowing Christ. We also got to play futbol (soccer) with them! We only lost by one point-holla holla! We also helped them fetch water from a well like a half a mile away. I felt like a real African woman because I carried the bucket back on my head. It was exciting to just get to encourage them in their faiths and to let them know that we cared about...
