Nime Bambika!

  Mambo, We arrived in Kenya a few days ago and have hit the ground running. Our host church is full of amazing members with the love of God overflowing from their hearts! I am more than excited to be learning the language, culture, and way of life. My team has become a huge cohesive unit. We are a family! I made it!

So, I made it.  Swollen legs that reminds me of the hulk, but I made it!  It is beautiful here, with the wonderful landscapes and people that I have met so far.  I’ve even learned some words, such as Jambo is outdated…like rad?  But Sasa is something they say to great to say hello.  And guess what.  I don’t know how it’s spelled, but misery (that’s how it sounds) means good!  Too funny.  THANKFULLY, they also speak english too 😉  I am sooo excited to see what will happen with the next few days.  I am Boa!...

we are in kenya!

hello everyone! we made it to the International Christian Centre in nairobi, kenya around noon (5am at home). so far we have met the staff here and played games with some of the young adults. the flights went well, i slept a lot and didn’t get sick at all (thanks to the Lord and dramamine). we flew from atlanta to d.c., made a pit stop in rome for fuel, changed flights in ethiopia and then came to nairobi. thanks to all who left comments! please pray that our team will feel rested soon. i know there are several who have slept very little in the past three days. chris, i miss you....

Jambo! Sa Sa!

HI MOM AND DAD! I made it to Kenya! We had a perfect flight and safe travels! We are here at International Christian Center in Nairobi and I am LOVING IT! I am eating and I got good rest on the plane but am looking forward to sleeping in my tent tonight (never thought those words would come outta my mouth. huh?) Thanks for all your prayers thus far!
