Go into ALL the world

This week we have been working on a church that has been run down and also walking around the city Kiserian ministering and evangelizing. I am really enjoying the work we are doing. Yesterday I went into a small pub and I told the bartender and the people sitting around about Jesus and how important it is to have Jesus in your life, I wish I could say that they asked Jesus into their hearts but unfortunately they didn’t but i could tell God was dealing with them because the bartender, a guy probably about my age was about to cry, but what God told me was that although he didn’t...

I love you Newton

Hey everyone!!!  Time for an update!!  Right now we are taking turns using computers at an internet cafe.  This place is amazing!!!  Before the trip I felt nervous about coming.  I mean I knew that this is where the Lord was calling me, but every moment spent here, ever new voice that graces my ears, reassures me more and more that this is the right place.  Today we went and taught English and a little math to children in all years of primary school (the USA equivelant of everything before high school).  Claire and I ended up working with 9 and 10 year...

Dependence

So we are to keep these short… I am not sure what to write about… But here is what I have learned so far. God is so good and so big.  Oh I think I have it. Worship. The first day we were here we were at the place we are staying and after breakfast our wonderful hosts came and thought we should start off with a time of worship. Well this time of worship turned in to like an hour or two of worship to the song oh how he loves. It was wonderful and a great expression or God’s love for us. We were just able to pray for each other and encourage each other. I have to say...

God is Amazing

As I am sure everyone has already posted we are not sleeping in tents we have been blessed enough to be able to sleep inside in beds. On our first outreach we walked around and talked to people 7 people were lead to Christ God still saves. On that same day God placed a new calling on my life on top of the calling for Kenya I know that God is here. Our first week here has been extraordinary our host church in ICC (International Christian Center) a KA/G (Kenya Assembly of God) church. They have been such a blessing on our lives they welcomed us at the airport with open arms and are...

Mondazis

Sasa! Habari Yako? Muzuri Sana!    Yes, I have been learning swahili. One of the many many things I have been learning this past week! My goal is to become fluent 🙂 I have had a great past week! The LORD has blessed us with a hostel type building that we sleep in (no tents–don’t worry Kenzie, we are still going to be using them later this summer!) and a wonderful man named Patrick from the church who has been making us food. We also have been able to watch the World Cup, which is part of the sports ministry that ICC (the church we have partnered with) provides. Earlie...
