Otto’s Gift

Video from the last day of IDP. Lizzie Burks bought some clothes and a pair of new shoes for our young friend, Otto. He is around 5-6 years old and has had a very rough life. During the election clash, his father left and eight weeks ago, his mom left. Currently, his 14-year-old sister is taking care of him and his three brothers, all who are under 12. What made this so awesome was that he has never really had a new pair of shoes so this was the most exciting for him. Check it out.

Final Days in Africa…

Hello everyone, Our time here in Kenya is almost over. We only have 2 more weeks left, so this is probably my last blog. Its sad to think that were going to be leaving all the friends we’ve made and the relationships we have built both at the hospital and especially the IDP camp, but, it’s exciting to be able to see everyone back home, and take a shower every day… The weeks here in Kenya have been really amazing and I have learned so much. Reflections

Hello from Kenya, as the trip is quickly waning this will probably be one of my last blogs, so I guess I’ll just share how the my time in Kenya has gone. This was definitely the best thing I could have done this semester, it has been an incredible experience. I am sad that it is ending so soon, and that I will have to say goodbye to the friends I have made here, but I know God will be with all of us.
