Can you hear the prayer of the children?

The first night we arrived in Tangitatu to live with the tribe for 2 weeks, I cradled a child named Ellen in my arms and sang her my moms lullaby "Like a Ship in the Harbor".  I felt overwhelmed with love from the Lord and wanted to show it to this little girl.  I could almost her her prayer for love, attention, and comfort. The third day of ministry, I prayed over a little girl named Tiotoni, who was 5 years old but could not hear or speak.  She was so precious, so beautiful, so full of life.  I could almost hear her prayer for healing, for a voice, for...

This is Tangi Tatu

We arrived in Kajabe only to pack our things for two weeks and head to Tangi Tatu, home of the Massai poeple. It was an unexpected adventure, but it was for the best. Tangi Tatu is full of amazing people who would do anything for you, including using the last of their supplies to make you tea. Its interesting that we came here to serve, but we've been served just as much. It was also a really great opportunity to grow. In two weeks, I've already changed so much. I went from being the girl who was afraid to give a 5 minute speech, to teaching two, fourty minute classes. We've...

one happy family again

We just spoke with Neal and he let us know that the team is finally all there.  There were 2 students and Nikki who got bumped off their flights and had to fly a day late.  But all is well and they're one big happy family again.  They're all settling in in Kijabe and jumping into all that God has for them there.  Thanks for all the prayers for this team! Opening Up

Our first "adventure" from the airport came in an envelope with directions and $37. We had to figure out a route to our destination in Atlanta (Safehouse), buy marta tickets, and walk with our luggage. It did not take me long to wish I had not packed so much. That night we were introduced to AIM staff and the five other Real Life teams. We split into groups of 6 and were given a map and 3-4 hours to minister to people on the streets. We were lucky enough to have the entertainment of "Dragacon" participants. We talked to a handful of people and a nineteen year old boy was...

Out of My Comfort Zone

These last 4 days of training camp have been so life changing. Who would have thought that my life would be turned upside down before I even got to Kenya! It has definititely made me step out of my comfort zone. But it is a good thing. I have to be forced out of my comfort zone so that I can grow and be where God wants me to be. Usually when I hear God,I just keep it to myself and just allow other people to do the talking. But training camp has really made me more comfortable with sharing what God has placed on my heart and not caring about...

Steadfast Love

"Because of your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.  So, I will bless you as long as I live; in Your name I will lift up my hands"-Psalm 83 About 4 months ago, I answered the Lord's call to go to Kenya and love on His people there, to teach them about His love, to tell them the life changing gospel.  I chose to listen to God and go on this trip, thinking that He would be using me to change peoples lives.  I knew that I, too, would be changed after this trip, but I didn't realize that God would bring more life and transformation...
