A lots happened since last time. We did some house visits within the slums. It’s amazing to me how little we need to live on. One of the families we visited had 9 people. A single mom and 8 children. 3 of the children were hers and the other 5 were passed on to her because her sister had died. Living in a space about the size of a full size mattress. They literally sleep on top of each other. We have nothing to complain about. There’s so much that I don’t understand. Why do innocent people have that? It was a struggle for me but I know that God is good. I KNOW that God is good and it’s not of his doing.
We went to spa fest which is basically like america’s best dance crew kenya style. LOVED it we had so much fun It’s an all night dance competition. A lot of people got tired by 12/1ish but I just kept going haha natalie you would of loved it! my friend took a video of us dancing and when we all lift our hands in the air you def know where I am ..the only white one in the crowd haha it was awesome tho I met my african sister Dina 🙂
We’ve been doing construction this past week, building up a church. I’m discovering how much I love worship. Taking it back to the roots, its not about us.
We’re all one. I’m learning more and more the power of love and unity. God’s love is pure. I feel like before this trip I was starting to get more selfish, God’s opening me up again to his love. Being able to erase fear and be powered by him lets me love with sincerity and strength. He’s so amazing. I’m so greatful that I am able to forgive and able to have mercy but he’s done that for us. Freely we have been given so freely give. Becoming less and less selfish. What’s mine is only borrowed. I’ve been blessed with it and it’s not mine to keep. Give generously and really loving others around you with purity and no hostility. Having a PURE heart, cleansed with his spirit.
We had french toast today! Patrick our cook is trying to make us happy with american food. He’d never made french toast before haha
