“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer gokd for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” Matthew 5:13
Salt is a major ingredient in most foods, whether baking or cookig. It gives off a flavor that is unique to itself. Salt is also essential to our body because it is needed in all neural communication within the body. Similar to the Jody, there is a range of adequate amount of salt needed in food.
In my mind, salt alone  is disgusting, but mixed with other ingredients, it is undetectable. We are called to be the salt of the earth. We are not called to blend in with the world. We can choose the extent of our saltiness in the world, like in a food we make. Theresult of how much wr put in is seen in how noticeable the salt is. We are called to be salt. We are called to make an impact on this world. Where does this saltiness come from? Our saltiness is based on how much we seek God. The more we seek God, the more salty we are. Be salt. Be bold in the mix of this world. Overpower the other forces that God may win and come out as the most noticeable thing. Don’t rely on yourself or claim I as your own. God fives us the ability to be salt. Be salty and give it back to God.
